When Jason grew up Hera took notice of him and so with their mutual despise of his uncle she took favor on him. He led the Argonauts in their very important quest in search of the golden fleece.

According to Apollodorus, Talos was slain either when Medea drove him mad with drugs, deceived him that she would make him immortal by removing the nail, or was killed by Poeas's arrow (Apollodorus 1.140). On the way back to Thessaly, Medea prophesied that Euphemus, the helmsman of Jason's ship, the Argo, would one day rule over all of Libya. [15] Her domestic bliss was once again shattered by the arrival of Aegeus' long-lost son, Theseus.

In the most complete surviving account, the Argonautica of Apollonius of Rhodes, Medea fell in love with him and promised to help him, but only on the condition that if he succeeded, he would take her with him and marry her. According to the poet Eumelus, to whom the fragmentary epic Korinthiaka is usually attributed, Medea killed her children by accident. One of the only uncontested facts is that she is a direct descendant of the sun god Helios (son of the Titan Hyperion) through her father King Aeëtes of Colchis. He was married to the sorceress Medea.

Jason and his father-in-law-to-be, Creon, tell Medea that she and her children must leave the country so that Jason may marry Creon's daughter Glauce in peace. In return, Heracles gave her a place to stay in Thebes until the Thebans drove her out in anger, despite Heracles' protests.

Jason and Medea met at Colchis, where King Pelias had sent him to capture the magical golden fleece from Medea's father King Aaetes. She is directly influenced by the Greek gods (through Hera and Aphrodite) and while she possesses magical abilities, she is still a mortal with divine ancestry.

Jason had three children by the names of Tisander, Alkimenes, and Thessalus. There is also the paradox of how she chooses to murder her victims in the play. Euripides' 5th century BC tragedy Medea, arguably the best known adaptation of the Medea myth, depicts the ending of said union with Jason, when after ten years of marriage, Jason abandons her to wed the king's daughter Creusa while Medea and her sons by Jason are to be banished from Corinth.

To kill Glauce she laced her robe with poison so when she went to put it on it killed her and when her father Creon came to help he tried to remove the robe with which resulted in him dying as well. Afterward, she left Corinth and flew to Athens in a golden chariot driven by dragons sent by her grandfather, Helios, god of the sun.

He was married to the sorceress Medea.

After Medea leaves Jason in Corinth, she marries the king of Athens (Aegeus) and bears him a son. Aeëtes then married the Oceanid Idyia and Medea was their child. She has been featured by NPR and National Geographic for her ancient history expertise. In the opening scene, the nurse/narrator tells us that Medea and Jason have lived together for some time as husband and wife in Corinth, but theirs is a troubled union.

She was very heartbroken which eventually resulted in driving her to the edge and she went a little crazy. Medea was an enchantress who would serve many purposes on his team. Medea then continued her revenge, murdering two of her children herself.

Her main purpose is to help the hero with his quest.
